Frequently Asked Questions

Are items on the online storefront available for pickup at the Book Cellar physical store?  
No!  We keep two separate inventories for our online store and the physical Book Cellar.  If you see something you'd like to purchase on our online store, it must be ordered through our website.
Is the physical store open?
Yes!  Our current hours are : Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm and Friday-Saturday 10am - 4pm.
Will the Book Cellar Online still be available now that the Book Cellar has reopened?
Our online store will remain open and will feature newer releases, higher value items, book sets, and other quality items.  
How do I pick up my Book Cellar Online order?

Please allow 2-4 business days for us to process your order.  You will receive an email when your order is ready for pickup.

The library is open for in-person pickups at the upper circulation desk during the following hours: Mon - Thu 9am-9pm, Fri - Sat 9am-5pm, and Sun 1-5pm.

Orders may take longer to fulfill during holiday periods.

When do I pick up my 2024 Plant Sale Order?
Plant sale orders can be picked up on May 11, 2024 on the lower level of the library between 10-2pm.
Can you ship my order to me?
Alas, we are currently only operating as a pick-up business.  The only item that is available to ship is the Library's Chili Cookbook.
I need my order in 3 hours.  Can it be ready that fast?
We are a small, but mighty group of volunteers.  No one is getting paid to do this job...we do it for the love of the library.  That being said, we typically won't be able to fulfill an order that fast.  Please allow 2-4 business days for us to process your order for pick-up. 
I never received a notification email that my order was ready for pickup.  What should I do?
Orders are typically filled within 2-4 business days.  Check your spam folder to see if you received an email from us that your order is ready.  If not, please contact us at mtlebanonbookcellar@gmail.com and we can tell you the status of your order.  
Why do your prices seem higher than in the store?
Online commerce comes with a price, so we needed to raise prices slightly to ensure that our fundraising efforts were fruitful.  We hope that you will still find that we are one of the most affordable used book stores around.  All proceeds go to the Friends of the Mt. Lebanon Library to support library programming and services.
Will you be adding new items?
Absolutely!  Just like our regular store, we are adding new items every week.  The best way to look at any new items added to the online store is with the following steps:
  • From "Shop the Store", select "All Items"
  • Next, sort by "Date, New to Old"
  • All of the newest items will appear first.  Shop away!
Can I return an item that I purchased?
We are not accepting returns at this time.  All sales will be final.  We take a lot of time trying to provide an accurate description of the item, and we hope you love your new books as much as we love your support of the library!
Are you accepting book donations at this time?
Donations are now being accepted at the end of the long hallway on the lower level of the library.  Please place your donations on the red cart.   We are unable to accept encyclopedia sets, textbooks older than 5 years, VHS and cassette tapes, magazines older than the current issues.
